    Description

The Republic of Estonia’s e-Residency Programme, in collaboration with Loudhailer and Stellenbosch Network, invites all business owners, digital nomads, post-graduate students, and working professionals in Stellenbosch and surrounds to join us for an afternoon of networking and knowledge-sharing, to learn about how Stellenbosch locals can access European markets via the recently launched e-Residency opportunity in South Africa.

With the COVID-19 pandemic having accelerated the popularity of remote work – and with Europe presenting South African businesses with a range of untapped commercial opportunities – the e-Residency programme is a world-first and leading initiative that empowers local entrepreneurs to cost-effectively scale their businesses internationally and expand into the European market.

Join us for an engaging event to unpack how and why Stellenbosch-based businesses and digital nomads can capitalise on European markets, featuring a keynote address by e-Residency Head of Business Strategy, Mats Kuuskemaa, and a panel discussion with key ecosystem players. We will end the event with a casual networking session with light snacks and refreshments

e-Residency allows entrepreneurs and freelancers to establish and manage European-based businesses 100% online with minimal bureaucracy. In doing so, Estonia-based holding structures for startups are able to keep their own shareholder registry, thus bypassing notaries and banks, and participate in Estonia’s lively startup ecosystem, which has helped produce 10 unicorns to date.

The programme currently caters to over 90,000 founders, freelancers and entrepreneurs from 170+ countries, including over 300 South Africans, who have been granted e-Residency status since the launch of the programme in South Africa in May 2021.
