About me

I'm Federico Pirola, an entrepreneur based in, Italy, and a partner at Emerald Foundry. Our consultancy focuses on helping startups and small businesses grow, promoting a decentralized and collaborative world. Since 2015, I have been an Estonian e-resident, drawn to the concept of digital citizenship and the global community it fosters.

In 2016, I founded a company in Estonia as an investment vehicle. Over the past five years, I've expanded my portfolio by partnering with fellow e-residents.

I am also an active Angel Investor, collaborating with networks such as SIA-Startup Investor Accelerator in the US, FStage in Estonia, and E-Levation Innovation Angels in Italy, where I lead initiatives in financial education and international collaboration.

I hold a degree in Economics and Management from Università Cattolica and have extensive experience in the financial industry, including wealth management, IT Project and Program Management, and managerial support in Security, Operations, and Organization.

"E-Residency places people, from all over the world, at the center of its activity, fostering their creativity and their ability to work together to solve problems. It supports, quite literally, humanity at its best. I am proud to be part of the e-Residency community and of the broader Estonian business ecosystem and I'm looking forward to be able to work even more to promote the program and help other entrepreneurs join Estonia."

My journey

With e-Residency, you can easily register an EU business online without relocating and free from bureaucracy: great for remote entrepreneurs!

2015
I became an e-resident
I learned about e-Residency in 2015, by chance. I immediately fell in love with the concept of a state that leverages on its technology and infrastructure to make life easier for all people, not only its citizens. About a year later I found my first use case for e-Residency, and applied right away.

2016
I registered my first company as an e-resident
I created a holding company to manage investments, jointly with some friends. This allowed me to get involved in the e-Residency ecosystem and to get to know other people who would later become the business partners in my second company (est. 2022). Our objective is to help other entrepreneurs run successful businesses, also leveraging on the possibilities offered by Estonia.
