Automating Cloud FinOps for AWS
I'm Jose Ernesto Suárez Font, a systems engineer from Valencia, Spain, with over 20 years of experience in IT, specialising in cloud computing and infrastructure management. After spending 15 years as an IT developer and manager, I shifted into teaching but maintained my entrepreneurial spirit.
My entrepreneurial journey began with consulting for the United Nations, eventually leading me to build my own FinOps strategies for cloud systems. After experiencing the complexities of bureaucracy, I turned to Estonia’s e-Residency for its simplicity and efficiency in managing businesses online. Since then, I’ve launched seven companies in Estonia, taking advantage of the digitised ecosystem that allows seamless company operations from anywhere in the world.
In 2017, I created Glassity through Estonia’s e-Residency program, a company focused on simplifying cloud architecture and helping businesses reduce costs. Reducing cloud costs in these situations becomes an uphill battle. If you’re in the technology sector, this issue might sound familiar. For me, it was a daily struggle. I realised there should be a better solution. Few months of ideation, few months of coding and Glassity’s automatic cloud cost-reducing tool was born.
Now based in Tallinn, I continue to teach IT while managing my businesses and mentoring fellow e-residents, helping them navigate the digital landscape.
